Building Best Recycling Practices on Campus

Contact  for most recycling or waste management questions.   The campus Environmental Health & Safety office manages many regulated materials. 

Residence Hall Recycling

Residence Hall recycling among various partners has introduced room-by-room dormitory recycling to the 澳门100%最准一肖一码 campus.  The 澳门100%最准一肖一码 Residence Hall Association, in partnership with the and other organizations and individuals started a pilot residence hall recycling program in Harris Village in 2012.  Seven gallon recycling bins, acquired by SOSA with funding support from and were distributed by Harris Village Resident Assistants to interested participants in the pilot program.  

The annual LEAVE GREEN event in spring is managed by the Residence Life SUS Committee and diverts many items away from dumpsters and to local non-profit organizations.

Office Workspace Recycling

Workspace recycling provides opportunities to increase recycling volumes in individual faculty and staff offices, as well as high-traffic areas in academic, dining, and administrative buildings. After a successful pilot study in the College of Science, office workspace recycling is being implemented campus-wide to further increase recycling opportunities while increasing the total volume of items diverted from landfills.
