Tables
Include appropriate column and/or row headings. Do not use tables for layout.
Screen readers typically navigate tables one cell at a time and announce associated header cells to help users understand relationships among the information being presented.
Best Practices
Use tables only to present data.
Include column and/or row headers to help users understand the information in the table.
Avoid merged or split cells and nested tables.
Tables should not be used to create a layout such as adding columns or placing a block of text directly next to an image. Various content types are available if you need a different layout on your page.
